The League of Women Journalists (Germany)

Founded in 1987, the League of Women Journalists (Journalistinnenbund) now has nearly 500 members throughout Germany. We are a professionally-based, multi-generational network for women working in the journalist sector.

Our Objectives are

• to facilitate communication and mutual support among members
• to actively promote women and equal opportunities for women and me in all media jobs
• to achieve gender democracy in media portrayal and to perform an ongoing critical media watch

Our Network

• is are organized in regional groups
• holds public events on current topics
• addresses specific topics by working committees
• documents current activities on our website
• reports on our work in our quarterly newsletter
